Property Update June 2019

Sue Cattell —

As has been mentioned before, the Board have undertaken a property upgrade plan to improve the school environment. This plan is based on community feedback (from last year’s community surveys), staff and student voice, plus external advisors.

We have started to implement the plan and thought it timely to give you an update. Items that have been completed include: the courts being remarked, additional netball hoops purchased, pathway enhancements with welcome in different languages and a colourful alphabet, uneven concrete by the junior block remediated, playgrounds remulched, and screens installed around the bike park. Shade, seating and tigerturf outside the Pohutukawa block has also been installed.

Items being addressed in the next month include: a new PE shed and a lunchtime sports shed installed, a drinking fountain by the Pohutukawa block installed, an upgrade to our disabled toilet and shower facilities, sensor lighting installed on the main buildings, the path between ESOL and Room 21 widened and redesigned, signposting installed to show main areas, and the area outside the Hive redesigned.

Cyclical maintenance items are also being addressed, as well as a new PA and phone system which will shortly be installed.
