Shore to Shore Fun Run and Walk

Linda Vane —

The 2020 Shore to Shore 5km fun run/walk is taking place on Sunday April 5 2020. We invite all children, family members and friends to get together and register. The final date for registrations will be Friday March 27.

Shore to Shore is the North Shore's largest 5km fun run. The run starts at Takapuna Grammar School and ends at Milford Reserve, taking in the views of the picturesque Takapuna and Milford beaches along the way. This event brings together the North Shore community and supports local schools by providing them with an opportunity to raise funds for sports equipment. Why not put this date in your diaries and come along and share a family day and meet your child’s friends. Maybe you would like to have a picnic.

All schools that enter the Shore to Shore Fun Run/Walk are eligible to apply for funding from the Shore to Shore Trust. The more numbers participating in the event from our school will impact on the amount of funding we may receive.

Milford School sees the Shore to Shore Fun Run/Walk as a positive school community activity providing the opportunity to demonstrate to our children the benefits of healthy physical activity while enjoying the company of family and friends.

Only those people registering under the school name will be able to assist with our eligibility to receive funding.

To enter through the school it will cost each person $10.00 for an untimed race and $15.00 for a timed event. This price however is to be confirmed. All enries are to be done online through the Sport North Harbour website. We ask that all children are supervised by an adult on the day as this is not a Milford School teacher supervised event.

I am asking that you put the date in your diaries now and encourage others to come along with you. Registrations will be opening in the next few weeks and can be done through the Sport North Harbour website. I will confirm further information very soon.

This is a wonderful day and I know we have great community spirit. Let’s get behind physical activity, community and family getting together.

If you have any queries please feel free to ask.

Kind regards
