The music department had a very busy and special weekend last weekend. On Friday night the Year 4-6 choir sang at a beautiful venue - St Matthews in the City with a live string quartet and two famous New Zealand singers - Sophie Morris (sings with NZ Opera) and Laughton Kora. They were simply amazing and had worked every lunchtime for weeks to prepare themselves to sing at such a high standard.

The Senior marimba group also performed exceptionally well at the North Shore Marimba Festival. This was held at Milford School where we performed with Kristin School, Takapuna Primary, Wairau Intermediate, and Mairangi Bay School. Our school was the only school not to need music and this is because of their dedication to learning the pieces so well!! Congratulations this group!

Thank you also to the parents who supported their children, to the parents who helped me set up the hall on Saturday (a big job), and to Sue Cattell who attended both concerts and was a wonderful MC on Saturday.
