Food for thought

Scott Polkinghorne —

Last week, the Year 6 Team was lucky enough to participate in the Food For Thought Programme. This consisted of a nutritionist from Foodstuffs spending two sessions in our classes teaching us about what a balanced diet looks like. Also, we learnt how to read food labels so we can understand the difference between an "everyday food" and a "sometimes food".

Next, we got to go to New World Milford and put our new knowledge to the test to find a healthy and unhealthy versions of different food groups. Often the results were surprising, making the teachers feel guilty about some of their food choices.

A big thank you to Naomi from Foodstuffs and to the parents who helped us on our visit to New World.Year 6 Team
