Table Tennis Top Player 🏓

Ben Xiong Rm 5 —

Hi, my name is Ben and I’m going to tell you about my experiences and feelings during the Term 2 North Harbour Table Tennis competition.

When the news came out on the Daily Notices in Term 1, I almost forgot to sign up! Every week I kept feeling nervous when I walked into the stadium. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up my streak of winning all my singles every Wednesday afternoon. I knew that it would be quite a shame if I only lost one single and failed to get a prize because of it.

In the end, I managed it with 24 singles won and 0 losses. I was able to attend the prize giving ceremony and was awarded a certificate and a big box of different kinds of chocolates.

I think I got kind of lucky in these competitions because nearly all of my opponents were middle school age and only one or two of them were kind of challenging.

To wrap up, I think it was a pretty fun and risky experience especially in a game against one of the middle school kids where it went down to 18-16 and I still won! I am going to participate again in the Term 3 League and hope that I am going to be a top player for the second time in a row.

I would advise other kids that are interested in Table tennis to participate as well because it’s actually really fun playing with other kids and just enjoying the games.

Winning or losing doesn’t matter, the most important thing is to have fun!
