Acting Principal’s Message

by Sara Baker

Tena koutou katoa. We’re well into our second week of Level 4 lockdown and I hope you are well and safe. Our Milford School staff are working hard to ensure the students are still engaged in their school learning and their connections with their teachers and friends. Thank you to the teachers and staff, all of whom are involved in many different ways, from face to face meetings, to behind the scenes work which enables us to keep delivering the curriculum. It was lovely to see everyone in an online meeting yesterday, checking in to share information and news, resources and birthday wishes!

Cayleigh’s Lockdown!

by Sara Baker

Many thanks to Cayleigh in Year 2 and her mum Nikki for sending these lovely photos through. “On Tuesday afternoon (before lockdown started), we dashed out and bought a new book (The Kitchen Science Cookbook by Nanogirl) to entertain us during lockdown. Cayleigh has been enjoying the experiments and today she did the 'Wicking Water' one. She's particularly excited because she met Nanogirl a couple of weeks ago!” Way to go Cayleigh, you are such a learner and risk-taker!

Lockdown Learning in Year 3

by Ellen von Collas

The Year 3 students have been doing some amazing learning during lockdown. In Reading, they've been developing their fluency and inference skills. The children have been practising their skills at painting a picture in the reader's mind by creating some super sensory sentences. They've been developing their coding skills for orienteering, fraction knowledge and measurement skills. They're set to use those measurement skills and try out some baking too. I can't wait to see what's cooking in all your homes!

Level 4 Zoom Classes

by Admin

The past week of level 4 means online schooling has resumed and with it, lots of zoom class meets. This proves to be a great hit with the children who get the chance to see their classmates and share some part of their home lives with their friends. Room 17 shared baby photos with one another in their Zoom meeting this Friday. It is amazing how much we have grown and learnt over the years.
