Enrolment Zone

Effective from 1 March 2025 - The guidelines for development and operation of enrolment schemes are issued under section 11G (3) of the Education Act 1989 for the purpose of describing the basis on which the Secretary’s powers in relation to enrolment schemes will be exercised.

Home Zone

 Proof of residence will be required

Students whose usual place of residence is within the school zone have an automatic right of entry to the school. Parents of students who live within the zone are encouraged to make their application as early as possible to assist the school to plan appropriately.

All students who live within the home zone described below (and shown on the attached map) shall be eligible to enrol at the school.

 

  • Northern Boundary: Heading east from Marsh Ave (excluded), East Coast Road (excluded:35 and above, 32 and above), Seaview Road (excluded), Commodore Parry Road (excluded), Beach Road (excluded).

  • Eastern Boundary: Heading south from Milford Beach Reserve along the coastline to southern boundary of 1 Kitchener Road (Included).

  • Western Boundary: Heading south, Seine Road (excluded), Nile Road (excluded: addresses 129 and above, 170 and above), Corunna Road (excluded), Nile Road (excluded: addresses below 60 excluded, and addresses 39 and below), Wairau Road (excluded) and Taharoto Road (excluded).

  • Southern Boundary: Heading East along the southern boundary of Northshore Hospital, Shea Terrace (excluded), along shoreline of Late Pupuke from North Shore Hospital to southern boundary of Henderson Park, southern boundaries of 1, 2, 2A and 3 Kitchener Road (Included) to the sea, Hurstmere Road (excluded).

Transitional arrangement for families of currently enrolled students whose addresses become “out of zone” due to this amendment to the enrolment scheme home zone:

 

In addition, the properties in the amended area (10 & 11) as shown below (proposed area to be grandparented) below shall be deemed to form part of the home zone, provided a child residing at that address in the overlap area shown below has a sibling who currently attends the school. When the family living at the address ceases residing at the address, the property shall cease to be part of the home zone.

NB This is a very tightly defined concession. It would not apply to:

a)    Children of parents who move into any of these addresses subsequent to the adoption of the enrolment scheme boundary amendment; and

b)    Children of parents currently living at one of the addresses who move out of the address subsequent to the adoption of the enrolment scheme boundary amendment.

Schedule 20 section 1 of the Education and Training Act 2020 states that “The Secretary must define a State school’s home zone by geographic boundaries, which must be described so that a given address is either within or outside the home zone.” The map above is defining a location as “in-zone” unless dictated otherwise by the exceptions outlined in and above.
