Year 0/1 Athletics Day

by Beverley Smith

Thanks to the beautiful weather, the Year 0 and 1 students had a very successful athletics morning. For most students this would have meant showing the Learner Profile attribute of being a risk-taker, and participating in events that they may have felt nervous or anxious about. The children participated in egg and spoon races, sack races, hurdles, shot-put, sprints and long distance running. Thank you to all the parents who came to support and cheer on the children, and then stayed to enjoy morning tea with them. Thank you also to the Year 0/1 teachers for organising and taking these events, ensuring that our students all had an enjoyable morning.

AGE CONCERN NORTH SHORE CHRISTMAS GIFT APPEAL!

by Linda Vane

Just to let you all know that we are again collecting for Age Concern. If you would like to donate something, please either send it along with your child to their classroom, or drop it off in the office. The elderly people who are recipients of these gifts absolutely love receiving the special messages from the children. Many are on their own and do not have family to share Christmas with. We will have all goodies ready for collection on December 3.

Check out the photo of four of our wonderful Year 3 students who worked to create Shell Buddies this week! They used fine motor skills to use modelling clay, googly eyes, feathers and other bits and pieces, and came up with their own colourful shell buddies. They then were able to write about the process in an instructional text. Well done!

More to Smile About 👄

by Ellen von Collas

It's taken nearly 3 months to process our package but our Terracycle points are finally in! 1,542 oral hygiene products have been processed at the Terracycle depot. That gives us 3,084 points. Together with points from another recycling programme, we currently have 5,402 points. That's worth $54 for Enviro projects around our school. That's something to smile about.
