by Sue Cattell

Kia ora koutou katoa. We have so many talented students in our school, and this week I want to acknowledge Ben (Zhanyi) Xiong who recently competed in the 2020 Waikato Open in Table Tennis. Ben was the Under 11 Boys Singles Runner-up, the Under 11 Boys Doubles Winner, and the Under 13 Boys Doubles Winner. His two doubles wins were with different partners, which shows what a strong player he is. Congratulations Ben!

MUSIC NEWS

by Eugenie Middleton

In classroom music, as part of our "How we express ourselves" PYP units, we are inquiring into a very famous composer - Ludwig Van Beethoven who would have been 250 years old this year if he were still alive!!! He is inspiring us to compose, because he was and still is one of the most influential composers of all time. Ask your children some facts about Beethoven - he is fascinating!! In addition to senior classes learning how to play Ode to Joy (the melody from Beethoven's 9th symphony), the school orchestra are learning how to play it. See the link below to their second rehearsal!!
