Principal’s Message

by Sue Cattell

Kia ora koutou katoa. What a busy week we have had this week. The first two days were our IBPYP Authorisation Visit where two evaluators who work for the IB did a remote visit and looked at all aspects of our programme. It was certainly more challenging as a remote visit rather than face to face, as we tried to communicate the very special culture in our school and show them all the wonderful things our students do and the experiences they are a part of.

Rongo's Taonga

by Ellen von Collas and Jillian Sommers

Tāwhirimātea, guardian of the weather, has been kind to Rongo, guardian of cultivated food, enabling the taonga of food in our Gardening Club to grow to maturity. Ready for harvest were aniana puna (spring onions), pītara (beetroot) and pini whanui (broad beans). Yum! Gardening Club members also planted a couple of putirā (sunflower) plants next to the butterfly house in the Junior lunch eating area. We are looking forward to seeing their big yellow flowers over the summer.

by Ellen von Collas and Michelle Clark

Ehoa taku toa i te toa takitahi Engari, he toa takitini (My strength is not the strength of one but the strength of many) Over the last few weeks the Enviro Group children, with help from Mrs Hammond and from Thea's dad, James, have been working hard to create the koru shaped pathway for our new native garden. It is taking shape nicely. We hope over the next few weeks to put edging along the pathway and lay some weed mat and bark.
