Principal’s Message

by Sue Cattell

Kia ora koutou katoa. Today is the last day of Term 1 and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your children for these next two weeks. I do want to acknowledge all the time and effort the staff have put in and I sincerely thank them for this. Working with children is rewarding but also very exhausting at times, and I know the teachers, especially, will be using this holiday time to recharge ready for a new term of learning. School reopens on Monday 3 May.

Swimming Competitions

by Michelle Clark

Milford Swimmers have had a range of opportunities to shine over the last few weeks. We had our school swimming trials in the pool a few weeks ago and from those timed races we selected a team of swimmers to represent us at the following events. Pupuke Cluster Swimming was held at Takapuna Primary School on Thursday 1st April - each child took part in all races (25m Freestyle, Breaststroke and Backstroke) then there was the excitement of the relay race to finish the competition - which Milford School won with half a length to spare!

🥚 Year 6 Eggsperiments for STEM 🥚

by Nicole Brown

This is our egg dropping eggsperiment inspired by the movie ‘Up' , for how the world works. For this eggsperiment we had to have the resources to help us build the egg house. All the resources were important. We also had to think carefully about the weight at the bottom. The balloons helped slow down the egg house when it dropped. The final product was eggcellent and we learned so much about the science behind it! See the video below.

Year 6 Camp 2021 Carey Park

by Scott Polkinghorne

Our annual visit to Carey Park Camp was in Week 8, luckily COVID stayed away and camp went ahead. Camp was an amazing experience for the students who got to challenge themselves by participating in a range of excellent activities like archery, trolley carts, the flying fox and raft building to name a few. The burma trial triggered a wide range of emotions and reactions; fear, laughter, screaming, giggling, excitement and once completed...relief! (thanks to the Dads/goblins for the strange noises they created).
