Principal’s Message

by Sue Cattell

Auckland Transport ran a very successful Play Streets afternoon on Wednesday this week, blocking off Otakau Road from 2.00-4.00pm so cars couldn’t enter or exit the street. The children and parents who came through after school were really excited to use the chalk on the road, ride over the ramps and through the obstacles as well as devour a sausage! They will do this again next Wednesday afternoon, feel free to come this way home.

THANK YOU!

by Sara Baker

A huge thank you to all of the families who kindly sent in a gift for our Age Concern North Shore Christmas Appeal this year. You have supported some of our most vulnerable and lonely community members with kindness and generosity! We appreciate your contributions, and the cards made by our wonderful children will be hugely loved by the recipients of the gift baskets.

The 2019 Pollinator Project by Rm 4

by Nicole Brown

This year, Room 4 have been hard at work on our 2019 Pollinator Project. After we were gifted with our swan plant (which Daisy named Richard) in Term 2, we grew it nice and tall and planted it in the space outside of our classroom. In recent weeks, we have had many Monarch butterflies come and visit our plant to lay eggs. It didn’t take long for 13 caterpillars to grow big and chunky thanks to Richard’s abundant leaves!

Sea Cleaners 🐟🐠🐡🌍

by Paula Snowball

The Hive children have been caring for their environment. On Tuesday we put on some gloves, grabbed our buckets and set off collecting rubbish around our school. We were surprised at how much we found! Luckily, thanks to us, this rubbish will no longer end up in the lake or sea. We have saved some sea creatures from eating this rubbish. We hope people will now think carefully where to put their rubbish from now on.

Love ice cream? Please hold on to your empty 2 litre ice-cream tubs over the summer break and bring them to Mrs von Collas in Room 19 so they can be re-used for our new Enviro recycling initiative. T-shirts too small? Please send t-shirts that no longer fit to Room 19 also, so they can be repurposed. Many thanks.
