Gosh I love my job, and one of the best parts is spending time in the classrooms. Today I spent the morning in The Hive, and it really amazes me how self-managing these students are. They certainly directed me as to the usual routines and expectations, and were so knowledgeable about what they were learning. Amazing students!

This week we welcomed three new students to Milford School.

On Thursday last week, five Rippa Rugby teams and our Tackle Rugby team had their second tournament at Takapuna Rugby Club.

Jake competed in a trampoline competition in Manukau last weekend and won his first ever individual gold medal!! He competed in the Double Mini Trampoline, an event he usually comes second in. This time he was a risk-taker, took a chance and attempted a new harder vault which resulted in the win. Well done Jake!

As has been mentioned before, the Board have undertaken a property upgrade plan to improve the school environment. This plan is based on community feedback (from last year’s community surveys), staff and student voice, plus external advisors.

What is Give a Kid a Blanket? Give a Kid a Blanket is a community action of kindness. We are once again collecting for families who are cold and need help this winter. The aim is for recipients to feel both warmed and valued by the community.

On Wednesday the 19th of June both of the Year 6 netball teams enjoyed a great day out competing at the Netball North Harbour field day.

The club was formed by Mrs Vader and meets on Tuesday lunchtimes in Room 13 and is made up of Year 3 and 4 students. The aim of the group is learn more about how to look after ourselves and others.

Year 5 have just finished our second rotation of GTT sessions in the kitchen, garden and classrooms.

Milford Students are invited to participate in Wheels Day. Bring your bike or scooter, and join us for a fun day being Travelwise!

If you live in the Milford School zone, and have a child starting school within the next 12 months, please enrol them now. Enrolment packs are available from the school office.

The barricades are up, tensions are high and a revolution is about to happen at Westlake! But don’t panic – it’s all in the name of theatre!

A group of Year 12 volunteer students at Carmel College have got together with Foodtogether to run a packing hub at school, so they can supply fresh fruit and vegetables to their local community

All money and unsold Fruit Bags should have been returned to the office on Friday 31, May. If you have not already done so, please get them in, so that we are able to collate the winning families and classes for most sold. If we do not get all unsold bags returned by the end of school on Monday 24 June, families WILL be invoiced for the full $80 as we need to close off this fundraiser. We appreciate your support!
