Congratulations to Lucy Naylor, our Principal – Fellow and President of the APPA!

Francis ReidFebruary 23, 2025

On behalf of the Milford School Board, I would like to congratulate Lucy Naylor, our Principal, on her being awarded a Fellow of the Auckland Primary Principals’ Association (APPA) and on her being elected President of the APPA for 2025 and 2026.

Being made a Fellow of the APPA recognises that Lucy’s contribution to education, locally and nationally, is ‘above and beyond’ the contribution she makes to Milford School. Being elected President of the APPA means that Lucy is recognised by her peers throughout Auckland as a leader and a powerful advocate in education and for the needs of primary principals and their schools throughout the region.

We are lucky to have Lucy at Milford. She does an excellent job of balancing her responsibilities in education beyond Milford with her role managing and leading Milford School, which is her first priority. Her role as President of the APPA means that she may be called upon to represent the sector in interviews on radio or television from time to time, so don’t be surprised if you see Lucy in the media on behalf of the APPA.

From a personal perspective, Lucy is a pleasure to work with and has an excellent relationship with the Board. Milford is a well-run school and is thriving under Lucy’s leadership. Long may this continue. Congratulations again Lucy on your successes being recognised with these two honours from the APPA.

Francis Reid – Presiding Member, Milford School Board.
