A big thank you to everyone who got behind our Jester's Pie Day on Thursday. There were lots of happy faces around the school at lunchtime as the children enjoyed their choice of delicious pie.

A shout out to everyone at school who helped support the recent Great New Zealand Quiz-a-thon. We have raised just over $5,000! We are thrilled as this money is going towards the new and improved senior playground.

At the end of each Term, our wonderful Crest Cleaners award a class that have repeatedly left their classroom the tidiest at the end of each day, with a pizza lunch.

This term in Gardening Club we planted winter vegetables donated by Palmers (cauliflower, broccoli, winter lettuce, spring onions, beetroot, and rocket). We also planted potatoes and strawberries.

The Enviro Group enjoyed a visit from Trade Aid volunteer and educator, Raewyn Lucich, last Friday. She came to talk to the group about Fair Trade, Trade Aid and the impact that our choices, as consumers, can make on the planet - for humanity and the environment. By paying a tiny bit extra, we can make a BIG difference. We are excitedly planning a Fair Trade Awareness event for next term and can't wait to tell you all the details. For the moment though ... watch this space.

Two of our Netball teams, Milford 4/2 and Milford 5/2 achieved success this season, and were rewarded at the Junior Netball North Harbour Prize Giving on Monday night.

This past Saturday evening, our Y5/6 Girls Rippa Rugby Team played a curtain raiser game out at North Harbour Rugby Grounds. Sadly they lost, but they had great fun. What an amazing opportunity. We are proud of you all!

We were thrilled to once again take part in the 'Give a Kid a Blanket' this year, and wanted to share with you the following from the organisers.

Friday, November 1st will be our annual Halloween Disco. Put it on your calendar. More details to come.

We collect them in Room 19, and Mrs von Collas sends them to Australia, where they get recycled and turned into other products. You can help us win a Community Garden simply by bringing your used oral hygiene products to Room 19 and also by voting for Milford School in the Community Garden Challenge. Tell your families, tell your neighbours. Spread the word!
