Amanda Scott —

Amanda Scott - Year 5 & 6 kaiako Room 7

Kia ora koutou, this is my second year teaching at Miramar North School and I am looking forward to the year ahead. I have enjoyed getting to know the students and love the community feel of the school. Something I love about teaching is learning alongside the students and how everyday brings something different! Outside of school I enjoy spending time with friends and getting out to explore the many wonderful places New Zealand has to offer.

Jason Ellis - Year 5 & 6 kaiako Room 6

Kia ora Koutou! I am Jason Ellis, the teacher in Room 6. 2023 is my fourth year at MNS, and I have grown and learnt a lot over the last few years. I love making solid learning focused relationships with the students in my class. Getting to know all their individual interests and ways of thinking really helps me identify learning experiences that would be engaging for them. I like to pass on my enjoyment of literature, sports, and history to children, and am often amazed by the various wonderful facts I learn from them in return.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter. You might find us going for walks along the waterfront, chilling at Scorching Bay, or checking out one of Wellington’s many cultural attractions. I look forward to the coming year and all the great learning it will bring!

Nick O’Halloran - Year 5 & 6 kaiako Room 5

Kia ora koutou! I started at Miramar North School during lockdown in August 2021 in Room 5. I’ve lived in Miramar and the Motu Kairangi area for over 10 years now and taught in Motu Kairangi for nearly 15 years, so I love being part of the community here. I love all sports, especially basketball, and also I’m a huge fan of film and music. You can usually find me outdoors with my whānau and friends when I’m not at school.

Vangela Araboglos - Room 7 Release teacher

I am very excited to continue my role at Miramar North School during 2023. I appreciate and respect the MNS values, vision, teaching beliefs and community spirit. Teaching for me is incredibly rewarding. I have a passion for student well being, value creativity, and have a love of literacy. When I am not at school I enjoy baking, long walks, gym workouts and family outings.
