Amelia Receives her Award For Outstanding Leadership
On Friday Amelia was presented with the Sir Peter Blake Young Leader Award.
At MNS all of our Year 6 students belong to one of our Leadership Teams. It is always a very difficult decision deciding who to nominate for this award. Here is our nomination for Amelia.
Amelia is an outstanding student who puts energy and effort into every task. She displays excellent communication skills and recently presented information at a meeting for our new parents and families. Amelia is creative and participates in numerous activities around the school. She is a wonderful 'Big Buddy' to the younger students and a fabulous role model. Amelia has fantastic collaboration skills and cares deeply about nature and the environment. This was reflected in her 'Passion Project' where she chose to decorate the rubbish bins throughout the school to promote their use. Amelia is not afraid to take responsible risks and always tries her best, from running the cross country course, completing algebra problems to singing in the choir. Her leadership style is encouraging and inclusive. She always ensures the ideas of her peers are listened to and incorporated. Amelia does not seek the limelight but she shines brightly through her actions, positive attitude and respectful nature.
We were delighted to welcome Rebekah from Westpac to present Amelia with the award on behalf of the Blake Foundation. Our Kapa Haka group performed as part of the celebration.
