Sports News from Nick
It's been another action-packed term of sport at MNS. We have had our Y5/6 netball and Y3/4 and Y5/6 basketball teams rounding out their comps this week. They have had lots of fun and competed hard every week. It has been great to see so many tamariki wanting to be part of a new sport at MNS and they have improved so much each week. Tino pai!
Pōhutukawa sent teams to the Miramar Rangers football tournament on Monday and we had a fantastic result with one of our teams making it all the way to the final and just being pipped in a dramatic penalty shootout! Well done to all the players who had a brilliant day out and thanks to all the parents and staff that helped out and also Miramar Rangers for putting on a great tournament.
We had a number of students make it to Interzones Cross Country, with a special congrats going to Peyton Corkin who won the Y5 Girls category race! Ka rawe!
I'd once again like to say a massive thank you to all the parents that have given up their time to help coach or manage the teams. We really could not do it without you.
Finally, I'd like to say a big personal thanks to Santi for doing lots of organising for me while I was away isolating - several events simply would not have happened without her huge support... Ngā mihi nui!
