What a Term 1 we’ve had, MNS?! It’s been a tricky one to manage with lots of MNS families in isolation at different points. From a wellbeing point of view, we really do hope that everyone is doing well. Here’s hoping for a more settled Term 2!

Funky Friday: Crazy Hat Day

It was absolutely wonderful to see all the craaaazy hats come out, MNS! There were such a variety of incredible hats on display, and was really lovely to see the children’s excitement. We were very lucky to end the day with ice blocks, kindly donated by New World Miramar. Thank you so much for all your generous donations. We raised just under $600 – a really amazing total, which will go towards some much-needed new equipment for the MNS sports shed.

We’d also like to thank the Miramar Rangers Football Club, and the Miramar Tennis Club for their very generous donations to our sports shed. MNS has received two (very!) full bags of quality footballs, as well as a selection of tennis racquets and balls from these two incredible clubs. We are very grateful for their support!

Daffodil Bulb Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who has purchased daffodil bulbs! Orders have now closed, and we are busy getting your orders finalised with Bulbs Direct. We will get your beautiful daffodil bulbs to you during the final week of Term 1, just in time to have your children help with the planting during the holiday period. Bring on Spring-time!

Term 2: Inspire Family Photography Sessions – Save the Date!

We are super excited about this fundraiser! Inspire Photography will be coming to Miramar North School to photograph families on: Saturday 21 May 2022 – so mark your calendars!

Inspire Photography is an award-winning, Wellington-based professional photography studio who specialise in portrait, wedding and commercial photography.

A quick run-down:

· The best bit (!) - 100% of the $20 sitting fee (and 10% of all sales) will be donated back to MNS. So you’ll get some fabulous family photos – and support our amazing MNS kids!

· You’ll get a family portrait mini session - 15 minutes in length.

· What Inspire offer on the day:

o A relaxed and unique style of photography;

o A friendly and easy-going photographer;

o Fun, games and general silliness to get even the shyest children smiling;

o Portraits will be taken outdoors (weather-permitting);

o Family portraits, sibling and individual portraits (variations may depend on number of family members).

Finally, we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to our incredible MNS staff. There are 28 staff members at MNS – all working tirelessly (this term more than ever!) to support our children to stay happy, healthy and learning in these uncertain times – whether in the classroom or at home. There has been so much more needed from our staff this term. On behalf of our MNS community, we are so thankful for all that you do, and really do appreciate you all.
