Do you want to do something good for society without it costing money or taking up too much of your time?  Angus Norris is part of the Chip Packet Project New Zealand This charity takes used chip packets and hello fresh plastic bags (or similar light/flimsy plastic used for packaging) and fuses them together to make emergency blankets for the homeless and those in need. This project originally started in the UK in 2019.It is an ongoing project. The aim is to make 30,000 blankets and pillows by Winter, and it takes at least 40 large chip packets to make 1 blanket.  Next time you have foil packaging to throw away, please keep it aside and drop in in the collection box in Room 11 so Angus can make these blankets! It takes 80 years for foil to breakdown in landfills so instead of your foil rubbish going to the already overflowing landfills, it will be helping those who need warm blankets, and you still get to enjoy your chippies!
