Celebrating Term 2 in Room 1

Miramar North School —

Room 1

In Room 1 we were busy refamiliarising ourselves with our classroom routines after returning back from lockdown. We had circle time about relationships and working collaboratively with each other. We eased ourselves back into our programmes through learning new maths games and reflecting upon our time at home. As a part of our Journeys inquiry, we learnt about a picture book called ‘My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes.’ We mapped where all of the cats came from and wrote and designed our own cats from different countries. Some of us even linked our cats to countries that we have family connections too. We wrote cat descriptions and learnt all about different currency from different countries as a part of our maths. We have been learning about money for maths and have a farmers market to help us to learn about spending, change and adding prices together.
