A big shout out to Bunnings Lyall Bay for donating 60 PVC pipes that we have turned into whisper readers. 

What are whisper readers? 

A whisper reader is like a phone, you hold it up to your ear and speak. The phone amplifies the sound, which helps kids to more clearly hear the sounds and words they’re saying. This helps to build their reading skills and they can also read back their writing to help them with editing. 

Benefits of Whisper readers:

• Improvement in reading rates, phrasing, and expression

• Reduction of stuttering behaviors

• Boosted confidence as the child learns to master new skills

• Increase in fluency and comprehension

• Increase in a genuine excitement about reading
