Term 3 Inquiry

Sarah Macintosh —

In Term 3, we followed on from our trip to Zealandia by reading fiction and non-fiction books about birds. We learnt about what NZ birds look like, where they live and what makes them special.

A visitor from Predator Free Wellington came to talk to us about the uniqueness of our native birds and how we can look after them.

We also learnt about plants (the parts of a plant and what plants need to grow). We planted seeds and observed them as they grew.

A visitor from Waste Education came to talk to us about the importance of recycling and looking after our environment.

“Throwing rubbish on the floor is bad, instead you could throw your rubbish in the bin. Otherwise it could kill animals and sea creatures like turtles.” Gabriel, Room 12
