Celebrating our Term one learning in Pōhutukawa.

Making Connections

Last term in Pōhutukawa we did lots of learning about each other. We explored how the connections we have with others can impact our sense of self.

It was great fun learning to work in teams and collaborate on shared projects. Through art, sport and drama students explored how every individual has different qualities that make them unique.

Some of the highlights of the term were:

“It was really fun playing softball this term, hitting the ball and running around the bases. I learnt how to bat with a softball bat. When you have a gap between your hands on the bat you have more control. When you have your hands closer together you get more power” -Mattias, Room 6

“I enjoyed making the portrait art in term 1. I made it with pastels and learnt how to blend the colours using the colour wheel. I thought my portrait was a great finished product” -Mia I, Room 6

“I liked doing the reflections on our summer break and writing our 'I am'  poem” -Arabelle, Room 7

“I really liked that we got to do a lot of different types of art during the term. I loved the blending work we did for our portraits and it was fun that we all got to work together on a big piece of art at the end of term.” -Freya, Room 7
