Introducing Home and School 2022…

Given that we’re a relatively new team coming on board this year, we’d like to introduce ourselves!

Our aims:

Essentially, H+S is a group of parents who have volunteered to achieve two things:

· Raise money - which goes directly to benefitting our fantastic MNS kids; and

· Organise events that bring our school and the wider community together.

Our ethos:

There will be a real emphasis on the wellbeing of our school community this year, especially important in these ever-changing times. We aim to be a positive, supportive and inclusive team – and we really value input from you all. We aim to promote informative and open communication pathways between our H+S team, the Board of Trustees, and the MNS staff.

Fundraising:

We’ve decided to mix it up a little this year. Some fundraising will be for a specific purpose – e.g. for library resources or for sports equipment. Other fundraising will go to the school to be used where it’s needed most. This money is normally used for additional classroom resources that are not funded by the Ministry of Education, and for teacher aide hours to support our MNS children in the classroom.

Term 2 – Saturday 21 May - Family portrait photos with Inspire Photography – information to follow.

Term 2 – The first ever MNS Book + Bake Sale (depending on Covid circumstances).

How can you get involved?

We know that our MNS community is full of wonderful people who’d like to help, but don’t necessarily want to commit to the core H+S team. That is absolutely fine! Why not become part of the “Friends of MNS H+S” network?! We know that there are many skills, services, and interests among you all – please share those with us! Many hands make light work, as well as pull our incredible community together.

We have a real focus on communication this year. Many of the team are around at drop-off and pick-up times, so please feel free to come and have a chat. Or you can drop us an email at: homeandschool@mns.school.nz
