Tell Me a Story

Our MNS school wide focus for 2021 is Tell Me a Story. We will tell our own stories and use this inquiry to explore literature, cultures, science and the arts. Stories help us make sense of situations, they explain our thinking, they add value to te whenua and they carry our history. We broaden our perspectives by considering aspects of a story and we learn how to listen with our head, our hearts and our minds. Everyone has a story to tell.

• Everyone has a story to tell.

• There are many ways to tell a story.

• Stories reflect a time and a place.

• Two people’s stories about the same thing will be different (stories are subject to perception).

• Stories explain thinking and support culture

• We use our listening skills when others tell their stories.
