2023's Inquiry - Our People Our Place

Kowhai have been thinking about Our Place at Miramar North School. We spent some time thinking about our favourite places to play at school. We thought about the pros and cons of different areas of our school and suggested ways to improve them. Students used their writer’s notebooks to note down their observations and wrote poems about what they could see and hear in our school environment.  

Our Place

Big messy flax towering above me.

Solid grey rocks shivering in the icy draft.

Dry bouncy gecko plant bobbing in the breeze,

New metal pole shaking in the wind.

A high netball post waving from side to side,

Giant tree drooping, rooted to the ground.

Wide open field stretching out forever,

Metal fence blocking the back of the playground.

Brown messy plant behind Room 3.

A white hair clip clinging to my friends hair,

That is our school.
