Last term in Pōhutukawa we did lots of learning about Aotearoa’s environment.

We explored what we could do to sustain the ecology of our local environment. We also went to camp and enjoyed lots of team building activities. It was great fun getting to come together as a syndicate and make lots of connections and memories together. 

Some of the highlights of the term were: 

My favourite thing about this amazing term is definitely camp. I chose camp because camp is a place where people grow and people do things they've never even thought of doing before. Like the big swing, you have to get high up in the air and pull the pin. The most challenging thing about camp for me was pulling the pin at the big swing because it's a little tiny bit super terrifying. I managed to do it and I don't regret it one bit. So overall I think camp is a great valuable experience to our lives. Pablo

I really liked camp because it was fun, I had friends and there was a lot of fun stuff! When we arrived, we put our stuff next to cabins and waited for the instructions from the camp instructors. We were cold, but ready for adventure. We visited the bushes and sat around the fireplace, talking and trying to learn about each other. After lunch, we got to our cabins and set up everything but that was only the beginning of our adventures in the mountains… Sacha

One thing I enjoyed was camp. Camp was the one experience I will remember all year round (partly because I will never forget the pain of the freezing cold!) ⛺❄❄❄🌨 Kate

I really enjoyed the cricket sessions we had. I liked that I could smash the ball all across the courts. Cricket is my favourite sport and it was great to be able to play it at school. Mattias

I really enjoyed camp, although kayaking was freezing cold. The super fox was a lot of fun and it was great to spend lots of time with my friends. Prity

One of my highlights of this term was camp because I really enjoyed rock climbing. It was cool because we got to climb really really high! Ava

Something I really enjoyed was getting to plant some little gardens. I had never planted one before so it was interesting to see how it works and how the soil grows! Oliver
