What a start to the term! With winter sports teams heading off for their first games, school cross country and eastern zone cross country (22nd May) organisation also underway for our Y4-6 representatives, we are all go, and it's only week 2!Our school cross country was held on Tuesday 7th May and was a very successful event. While we record placings in order to select our Eastern Zone team, I really want to emphasize that the primary goal of this event is to instill a sense of personal improvement and 'fitness for life' in our tamariki. It was great to see all the tamariki show that focus by training hard and improving their fitness in every session.Well done to all the runners - and a big thanks to the parent helpers who were marshalling for us on the day.This year we have two netball teams in the Motu Kairangi winter league at the EBIS courts.We also have three basketball teams in the Kids Hoop League competition at Ākau Tangi Sports Centre.As always, a massive thanks to the parents coaching and managing those teams!
