Kia ora koutou,

Just a quick message to introduce myself as the new person taking over sports at MNS. I'm finding my feet quickly and looking to provide the same sporting opportunities and hopefully some new and exciting ones! This term has seen the cancellation of many Eastern Zone events, so sadly we will be limited with what we can enter in the red light setting this term. We have still managed to enter teams into Floorball, Touch Rugby and Netball. We are currently looking at what will be available in term two and then we will send out a Google Form before the end of term to gauge interest. As I am sure you will appreciate, like everything, the sports scene is still rather fluid so it's difficult to know what the landscape will be like that far off. We will keep you posted!

Floorball:

We have five floorball teams that played their first games last Tuesday. Our two adult teams are having a great time on Sunday nights and are improving every week. It will be exciting in a couple of weeks when they play each other.

Year 3/4 Netball:

Our two netball teams had their first game on Saturday.

Touch Rugby:

We have a year 3/4 team and a year 5/6 team playing this term on Wednesdays.

All our sports are being played slightly differently under Covid circumstances. Thank you to the coaches and managers that are helping out to enable the children to continue to play these sports.
