Kia ora koutou from Sports!

Well, there's no getting round the fact that covid has impacted sport this term, but nonetheless we have still been able to provide some worthwhile opportunities for our tamariki. Our MNS Touch, Netball and Floorball teams have all been doing their best to get out on the court or field and their positive attitudes have been just brilliant: tino pai guys and a special ngā mihi nui to all the parents that have been involved in coaching and managing the teams. We couldn't do it without you!

The tweaks to the settings for the traffic light system the government recently made have had some positives for sport in that it is looking likely that Zone events (outdoor) will be able to go ahead in term two. This means that we should be able to run our popular school cross country event, albeit with a few restrictions of course. Watch this space!

Lastly, watch out for an email coming your way to register for term two sports. We have Year 5 and 6 Netball as per normal and I will also be asking for expressions of interest for Basketball. We already have a coach and if we have enough players we will enter a team in the ASB competition.

Ngā mihi nui,

Nick
