Missions Interlink —

Digital Communications Strategist - Lisa McKenzie. (Self-supported role).

I feel so happy to be part of the Missions Interlink team, and I hope to help them serve them well with the social media marketing skills I have gained over the past decade. I am keen to help our members learn how to maximise their own social media so they can spread an awareness of their own work, and for them to experience increased growth and participation in their ministries from other Christians around the world.

When I was 8 years old, World Vision came to our school and showed us a video of children experiencing the famine in Ethiopia. At that moment my heart broke for them, but it also caught on fire. Ever since then I have known a calling on my life to help people living in poverty. As I grew older, I gave my life to the Lord, and eventually started Hope and Joy Ministries, which spreads the love of Christ through preaching, teaching, and practical poverty relief projects.

I currently work as a homeschool consultant, helping families who are starting out on their homeschool journey. Whilst this is a ministry area in itself, (allowing me to support families as they find peace and joy after experiencing difficulties in the school system) my primary ministry focus is serving the people of Nepal. I feel called to be a voice for the voiceless, telling the stories of those in the greatest need, and advocating for them so that they might be seen, heard, and helped.

I enjoy leading short term mission trips to regions across Nepal and I have a particular interest in helping people with disabilities to have the opportunity to travel and participate as missionaries. I am keen to see more organisations consider ways they can plan for this to happen, so people with disabilities can be well supported and encouraged to join in mission trips.
