COVID-19 Update

Matt and Lewis —

We are all seeing the impact of COVID on our hapori (community), and most of us now have a friend or whānau member who is in isolation or has been diagnosed with COVID. We currently have 29 confirmed cases, including 13 staff members and over a quarter of the school absent due to COVID circumstances.

Our tamariki and kaimahi (Staff) also feel the impact. Our entire Kura has been working within their own class bubbles except for break times. The specialist Kaiako and Pupil Assists have been teaching in different classrooms. We have all had to adapt to no auahatanga, specialist programmes, kapa haka, Pasifika, and assemblies. We have noticed the direct impact affecting the delivery of regular onsite teaching and learning, and we have moved several classes to distance learning online. This means that next week some tamariki learn from home, and some learn from school. We have made contact with those whānau affected. We can’t thank our whānau enough for keeping us informed of your situation. The health and safety of our tamariki-mokopuna, Kaiako, kaimahi (staff) and hapori (community) have always been our top priority and we will continue to communicate with our whānau and keep you all informed.
