Monrad Te Kura Waenga o Tirohanga has been invited to enter a team in a competition created for high school engineering students.

Evolocity is a competition that requires a team of students to design, build, and race an electric vehicle in a series of competitions in a regional competition held at KartSport Manawatu in October. The team has been selected and their journey is under way. 

The team of 12 students meets every Tuesday afternoon/evening and just had their first session on 12 April. This is a challenging event that requires dedication and a developed understanding of engineering and mechanics. What makes it even more impressive is that we are pretty sure that we are the youngest team ever to compete in this competition. Keep an eye out for regular updates on how the team progresses in their bid to qualify for the nationals to be held in Hamilton in December and compete for awesome prizes.
