Ngā Iti Rearea (Competitive Kapa Haka)

Whaea Kelsi, Papa Tee —

Our competitive kapa 'Ngā Iti Rearea' has begun preparing for the regional 'Ko Whiri Tika Mai' kapa haka competition in November.

Ngā Iti Rearea was established in 2007, and the kapa was named by Pā Leon Blake. The Iti Rearea (Bellbird) is known for its sweet song.

Ngā Iti Rearea has competed at six regional kapa haka competitions (Ko Whiri Tika Mai), won five, and placed 2nd in 2014. Ngā Iti Rearea has also competed at 6 National competitions (Te Mana Kuratahi) and received top placings in different performance items/disciplines.

We are fortunate to have some skilled kaiako, tutors, and composers who put a lot of time and effort into preparing the performance bracket for our tamariki.

If your tamaiti is interested in trialling for our competitive kapa haka team, encourage them to go along to practices on a Tuesday at 1:50 pm.
