Lachlan Grey
Lachlan’s background in the Steiner and Anthroposophical world spans over 20 years, as a Steiner educator and facilitator.
He was part of the Spring Valley Anthroposophical farm, schools and campus in New York, which is the second-largest Anthroposophical community in the world. Active in groups focused on the practical applications of Rudolf Steiner's indications, especially awakening to community, world economy, and new social and political means of restructuring society.
He has pioneered discussion forums and group facilitation projects with communities in Jarna Sweden, Switzerland, North America and here in NZ.
Lachlan has extensive training and work-based skills in a variety of areas which he is now bringing to Motueka Steiner School.
Warwick Sandler
Has taught at all levels of child education for over 50 years. In 1973 he was fortunate to be introduced to Waldorf ( Rudolf Steiner's) education and recognized this as his life's path. Warwick’s fortune was that he recognized his destiny. He also taught in state secondary, primary and remedial schools and in Hohepa's curative homes.
Having been active, whilst teaching (class teacher, upper school sciences, arts and crafts, sexuality ed) in helping to establish the Waldorf School in Christchurch, the Upper School in Auckland and, more recently, the re-locating of the Motueka Steiner School to its farm-based home, He feels himself to be very much a pioneer of our education here in New Zealand.
Marije Laarakker
After finishing primary and secondary Waldorf education. Marije then studied Social Community work, followed by the four years full time course for Anthroposophical Art Therapy at UAS Leiden in the Netherlands. She worked with children and adults as well as drug addicted aids patients, in a variety of work settings. After making the move to New Zealand, Marije worked in aged care for more than ten years, before reigniting her Art Therapy services.
With ‘Labyrinth Art Therapies’ she offers Anthroposophical Art Therapy sessions, an activities program for seniors, Colour Energy Healing and Cacao Ceremonies.
Heather Verstappen
Has taught secondary and tertiary students. Was a class teacher at Motueka Rudolf Steiner School in its pioneering years. Trained in Extra Lesson TM , a one-to-one therapeutic programme developed out of Steiner’s approach to education for children showing difficulties in learning and behaviour. Worked with children and adults and completed further training in Neuro Developmental Delay through the Institute for Neuro-Physiological Psychology (INPP: www.inpp.org.uk ). Both therapies work to uncover and remove underlying causes of holdups in a child’s or adult’s learning and behaviour.
Sue Morrison
Sue is a mother to three adult sons. She has been involved with the anthroposophical movement since aged 27. Now 70 and a retired nurse, trained counselor in the Rogerian modality plus as biography consultant from Taruna with Karl Heinz Fink as tutor. In 2014, she completed her Eurythmy Therapy Training and worked as a therapist at Helios Medical Centre in Christchurch. Simone has taught adult courses for many years and now teaches Eurythmy as guest tutor in various Steiner schools. In 2019, she also began teaching Eurythmy online and has been involved in many national and international conferences since then.
Simone’s deep interest is to bring this strange, new, beautiful movement art to people who are open to it and will receive and appreciate it as much as she does. It can deeply refresh the sense of community, and bring new hope and joy into our lives.
