SISS MotoCross X Country
The SISS Motocross X Country Championships is being held on Sunday 12 October. It is a one day cross country 10 km event for off-road motorcycles. This event is open to all secondary school riders (students enrolled as a Year 9 to Year 13 for 2024) throughout the South Island. Riders must hold a MNZ license or apply for a One Event license.
The course will be approximately 10km long. The event is run by Gore and Districts Motorcycle Club. Points are based on finishing position and the school with the highest accumulated points wins the SISS trophy. Please note that this will be a Parent Led event (parents are responsible for transport, accommodation and student supervision) and the school will only process the entries. Entries close on 1 October, so if you are interested, please contact Di Roy in the Sports Hub.
SPORTS RESULTS
We love to hear what our MAC students have been up to in the sporting arena. Please keep us up to date with any news at sports@mtaspiring.school.nz.
RUGBY LEAGUE
It has been a really exciting year for Rugby League at MAC, as we fielded our first ever representative teams at the Cromwell 9’s Carnival and also at the Global Games in Queenstown. Luke Kelly has been coaching the team and he has been really impressed at the awesome effort from all of the players at training and games. He is looking forward to building on this year's success next year. Well done everyone!
ADVENTURE RACING
Last week, 16 Year 9/10 students headed to Kelvin Heights for the Get2Go Challenge Regionals. A fun combo of kayaking, orienteering, mountain biking and problem solving made for an action packed day. Our Mixed Year 10 Open Team came an impressive 3rd place and the Year 9 All Boys a solid 8th. It was great to see everyone working together, figuring out the challenges and having fun.
