PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Nicola Jacobsen —

Here, Principal Nicola Jacobsen shares her thoughts.

Kia ora,

The two junior awards ceremonies have been an excellent way to finish Term four. It has been great to see a number of students recognised for their hard work and efforts this year, and the contributions they have made to different aspects of school life - sports, arts, cultural and service. Congratulations to all students on a successful year, and to their teams who support them: parents, teachers, siblings, whānau, coaches, mentors and the like.

Over the summer break the next stage of the building project will begin: the demolition of the old administration building. Part of this work will carry over into Term one, and by the end of Term one the landscaping of the area will be completed. There will be some more outdoor seating for students, shaded areas, and it will provide a great space leading up to the whare.

Thanks to you all for what has been a great year. It has been busy - and a good reminder of how nice it is to have fewer disruptions. Students have been able to do a huge range of activities, and it has been wonderful to hear the feedback from Year 10 camp this week that the students made the most of their opportunity to have a great outdoors experience and challenge.

I wish you all the best for the Christmas period and summer break, and look forward to welcoming you back in 2024.

Toitū te whenua, toitū te tangata.

The land is strong, the people are fulfilled.

Ngā mihi,

Nicola Jacobsen
