YEAR 8 LAKE INVADERS VIDEO COMPETITION

This week three of our Year 8 students placed in the finals of the Lake Invaders video competition. 

This competition aimed to provide Year 7-13 students in the Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago Districts region with an opportunity to get creative and visually tell us about their relationship with the lakes and how the invasive weed, lagarosiphon, is affecting them.

Students were asked to make a short video – no longer than 3 minutes – with the theme of Lake Invaders (freshwater pests).

A HUGE congratulations to Toby Gunn who placed second, and Lucy Radford and Violet Davidson who received highly commended.

YEAR 7 CAMP

This week the first of our Year 7 groups went off to camp in Pounawea. Thank you to all the teachers and parents involved in making this a week to remember!

SPORTS AND CULTURAL EXPO

Today at lunch the students 'pitched' their chosen clubs and sport activities to the wider student body. A hugely successful event that really showcased the variety of extracurriculars on offer here at MAC.

NZ ARMY BAND

This morning our Year 7-10 students were treated to a fantastic performance by the NZ Army Band. On behalf of the school we would like thank them for their energy and enthusiasm! A wonderful way kick off a Thursday.
