SPORTS RESULTS

Otago/Southland Y9/10 Netball Competition

Two teams recently attended the Otago/Southland Y9/10 Netball Competition which was held in Dunedin. Both teams played to their best with Millie East, Emilie Nicholson, Jessie Winter and Ava Hay earning themselves a spot on the talented player list. Well done to all!

Here are a few words from both teams captains

Jessie Winter-10a Captain

The team played amazingly well across both days with almost unmatchable netball. We easily won our pool games going into a play off against St Hildas. St Hildas won by 8 leaving us to go into third and fourth play offs. We easily beat Columba which meant we placed third, one of the best placings MAC has ever had. The team consisted of: Ava Hay, Eva Humphreys, Isabella Soper, Sara Jewell, Georgie Gillespie, Jessie Winter, India Yule, Emilie Nicholson, and Annalise Millar

Millie East-9a Captain

The year 9a netball team had a fabulous time at the Otago netball tournament in Dunedin. We closely came eighth out of 18 teams with three wins and two losses. We put up a hard battle and are proud of our results. We did some fun team-bonding activities beforehand such as laser tag and having a delicious meal out at lone star. It was a great experience and we had lots of fun participating.

A big thank you to Lou Carnie, Renee Plunket, Janine Laney and Kirsten Mavor for coaching / managing the teams and a huge shout out to them again and all the parents for all their help and support throughout the competition - it is really appreciated!
