I am a judge on the English language and bilingual panel for the 2023 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults, and I am delighted to announce that the shortlisted finalists have just been announced. It has been a privilege to have been part of the process of determining the best books of the year for young readers in Aotearoa and to have had the opportunity to read so many wonderful books. Obviously I highly recommend all the finalists - which you can read about here and in due course you will be able to borrow from our library.

Also out this week are the catalogues for Scholastic Book Club Issue 4, which are available online at https://www.scholastic.co.nz/parents/lucky-book-club/. All orders are online through LOOP https://mybookclub.scholastic.co.nz/Parent/Login.aspx. Orders close on Friday 16 June.
