PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Wayne Bosley —

Here principal Wayne Bosley shares his thoughts.

Nau mai haere mai, welcome to the Mount Aspiring College newsletter.

Despite the frosty starts (hello winter!) It’s been a great week here at MAC with a real emphasis on altruism. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, one silver lining that came out of the lockdown was our ability to think outside the box. As we slowly return to the status quo, I have enjoyed seeing how this new thought process has been retained both inside and outside the classroom.

One example is the different way our students have approached the 40 hour famine. This year all our school committees have gotten involved, and, over the next few weeks will be offering a service such as tutoring or sports coaching in exchange for a donation.

Cross country was today and, despite the rather wet conditions, school spirit was strong. Congratulations to all students who gave it their all! And of course a huge thank you to the PE department and teachers who helped out.

With the increase to gathering numbers last Friday, this week we returned to face-to-face assemblies and I know both students and staff have enjoyed the extra camaraderie.

A reminder that all students should be in uniform now, and you do not need to wear PE uniform underneath as the changing rooms are now open.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Nga Mihi,

Wayne Bosley
