CHALLENGE WĀNAKA INTERMEDIATE TRIATHLON

Just a reminder that entries for the Challenge Wanaka Intermediate Triathlon held in February next year close THIS Friday (1st of December). 

Lots of students have already entered (which is awesome), but we would LOVE to see even more getting involved! The students can participate either as an individual or as a team. If students are needing help to find some team mates, please let us know and we will try to help with the process.

CHALLENGE WĀNAKA SECONDARY SCHOOL TRIATHLON

The Challenge Wānaka Secondary School Triathlon is taking place in February next year.

When: Thursday 15 February 2024

Where: Glendhu Bay

COST: $12

The Course:

For U14, U16: the course will be made up of a 300m swim, 10km bike and 3.5km run

For U19: the course will be made up of a 400m swim, 20km bike, 4km run

SPORTS RESULTS


GYMNASTICS

Congratulations to MAC students Caoimhe Heath, Zoe Waddington, Vienna Harley, Madison Millar and Mackenzie Williams who travelled to Te Anau recently to compete in the Southern Trampoline and Tumble Championships which comprised trampoline, double mini trampoline (DMT) and tumbling events.

Our students achieved excellent results in what was the last competition of the year, with all athletes on the podium and Vienna returning as the newly crowned ‘Southern Champion’ in tumbling.

  • Caoimhe Heath (15-16 A): 2nd trampoline, 2nd DMT and 2nd tumbling

  • Zoe Waddington (13-14 B): 1st trampoline and tumble, 3rd in DMT

  • Vienna Harley (11-12 A): Southern Champion in tumbling 1st, 2nd DMT and 4th trampoline

  • Madison Millar (11-12 B): 1st trampoline, tumble, DMT

  • Mackenzie Williams (11-12 A): 3rd trampoline, 5th DMT (11-12 B): 4th tumbling.

These activities are all run externally (not through MAC), but they are aimed at our students, so we don’t want you to miss out! If you have any questions about the activities listed below, please contact the appropriate club/organiser and they will be able to help you.
