MESSAGE FROM 'PARENTS AND FRIENDS OF MAC'

Sunday afternoon 7 May, 3.00pm-5.00pm

Let’s build a stronger parent community and have some fun doing it, getting together a Sunday afternoon each term. We can help the new families feel connected and get to spend a few hours together, at exciting locations around Wānaka.

We will be meeting up Term 2, in the cafe at Cinema Paradiso, Sunday 7 May, 3.00pm-5.00pm. If the weather is nice we can spill over into the outdoor space between the cinema and the Next Chapter Bookshop. Both Andrea, from Cinema Paradiso and Sally, from Next Chapter Books, are excited to give us a unique space to gather. If you want/need to bring your child/ren, the cinema will hold a special screening at 3.00pm for them, so the parents can meet up.

We have plans for future Sunday afternoon meet ups at 'Hello Ranger', Rippon pop-up restaurant, and next summer a vineyard and maybe even a BBQ at Wānaka Station Park. We hope to see you Sunday 7 May at 3.00pm at Cinema Paradiso and Next Chapter!

WASTEBUSTERS REPAIR REVOLUTION

Wastebusters is running a series of repair events as part of the Repair Revolution and we’re looking for fixers and volunteers of all kinds!

If you, or anyone you know, enjoys repairing things and sharing your know-how, they invite you to join us as a volunteer fixer. They are also looking for all-round volunteers to help with the smooth running of the events.

Your repair superpowers in fixing household items such as computers, electronics, small appliances, furniture, clothes, jewellery, books, bikes, instruments, toys, skis and more are all welcome.

Amateur aficionados as well as professional repairers are all welcome as volunteers. Wastebusters will happily collect information about professional repair services and share it through their Repair Directory after the event to connect our community with local services and build a culture of repair.
