Maia Bennett —

See below for news and updates happening in the library.

Kia ora,

This week our Year 8s hosted Paul Adamson as part of the Storylines Otago Story Tour. Storylines aims to inspire our young people to enjoy reading books, especially reading books created for them by New Zealand writers and illustrators. Paul is the author of The beginners guide to hunting and fishing in New Zealand and Get outdoors, and his focus on hunting and outdoor safety was warmly received by our students.

Student Librarians Recommend…

Emily Heathorn recommends Everest Files by Matt Dickinson.

The first book in the series Everest Files is about a boy called Ryan who goes to a small village near Mount Everest. While he’s there helping he meets a girl named Sheerya who asks him to investigate why her friend Kami never came back from an expedition to Everest. Ryan finds Kami after talking to a lot of people and hears his story. When he found Kami he was neither dead nor alive.
