This June we are celebrating Out on the Shelves with a display in the library. Out on the Shelves is an online reading resource that connects members of the rainbow community with books that represent them, listing resources from around the world with rainbow themes and characters. As part of the campaign, InsideOUT Kōaro are holding a Rainbow Writing Competition open to all young rainbow, intersex, takatāpui and MVPFAFF+ aspiring writers across Aotearoa. Enter online, entries close at 11:59pm on Friday 30 June.

We are also delighted to support Schools’ Pride Week Aotearoa which is happening next week. As part of the celebrations, the library will be presenting Pride displays, screening inclusive cartoons at lunchtime on Monday and Wednesday and holding a Drag Queen Colouring Competition open to all students. The winner of the colouring competition will receive a $30 book voucher. Pick up your entry form from the library, and enter the competition by posting your completed artwork into the box in the library. Entries close 3:15pm on Monday 19 June.
