Congratulations to the cast, crew and staff on a great opening night for Legally Blonde JR. It was great to see the number of students involved, and the hard work that has been put in by all to create a fantastic musical performance.
At this week’s Board meeting Zoe, our Student Representative presented a report on the number of activities our student-led committees are leading, and the opportunities for students to get involved in everything from lunchtime quizzes, sports, cultural and many more. Last week the Cultural Committee hosted a lunch for international students. It was a special event - sharing kai and creating the opportunity for students from different places to get to know each other. Pink Shirt Day today! Thanks to the Wellbeing Committee for organising the day, and the bake sale at lunchtime.
A reminder that next week there is the PPTA Paid Union Meeting. The school will be closed from 1:05pm on Wednesday 22 May. Buses will be running at normal times and bus students will be able to work in the library. Staff will be supervising students in the library.
Learning Conversations are coming up, and it is great to see the number of bookings already. The purpose is for students to share with their parents/caregivers and their whānau teacher their goals, what they are proud of, what they need help with, and how they are tracking with their progress so far this year. It’s a great conversation which gives insight into how much our students are taking ownership of their learning.
