Good luck to Georgie Bruce, Ruby Burke, Abby Fisher, Estelle Gellatly, Scarlett Norman, Niamh Townsend and Ryan Young who are off to compete at the NEW ZEALAND Secondary Schools TRACK, FIELD & ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS in Wellington this weekend.

Triathlon

Puzzling World Intermediate Challenge for Year 7 and 8

The Puzzling World Intermediate Challenge for Year 7 and 8 will be held in Wanaka on Thursday 13th of February.

Year 7 & 8 students can compete either as individuals or in a team in the 200m swim, 6km bike ride and 3km run. Entry fee is $5 per competitor and each competitor will receive a race pack before the event which will be handed out at school. Footwear is compulsory, tops (covering torsos) need to be worn at all times and only mountain bikes are allowed in the race (no aero bars).

Entries will open on 1st of December.

Challenge Wanaka Secondary Schools Triathlon

The Challenge Wanaka Secondary Schools Triathlon is also being held on Thursday 13 February.

Individuals and teams will swim, bike and run to complete the course. All competitors will receive a medal and t-shirt upon finishing plus a special Challenge Family gift. The Otago Secondary Schools Champions will also be crowned as a part of this event, with the results being separated out from the overall Secondary Schools Race. Entry costs $10 per person for Otago Secondary Schools for individual or team. This event is open to competitive athletes as well as HAVE-A-GO athletes, whether it is as a team or as an individual. Distances are a 300m swim, 10 km bike and 3.5km run for Under 14 and Under 16’s and a 300m swim, 15km bike and 4km run for Under 19’s.

To enter please sign up at the Sportshub either in person or via email as only the school can enter MAC students.

Entry due date is Wednesday 5 February. No late entries will be accepted.

NZSS Triathlon Champs

NZSS Triathlon Champs are held on Sunday 16 Feb 2020.

This the School Sport NZ (NZSSSC) sanctioned Secondary School Triathlon Champs. It will be run as part of the amazing Challenge Wanaka weekend. For more info go to
