ITINERANT MUSIC LESSONS 2023

A reminder for the New Year that itinerant music lessons are available to interested students free of charge. You do not have to be a music student to benefit, though in the case of oversubscription music students will be prioritised.

Forms will be sent out at the beginning of Term One 2023 offering lessons in guitar, bass guitar, brass (trumpet, trombone etc), strings (violin, viola, etc), drums, and woodwind (flute, clarinet, saxophone etc). If you are interested, have a think over the break and look out for sign-ups next term! Any questions see a member of the music team.

SECOND-HAND MAC UNIFORMS

If you are keen to donate your uniform to the school, we would really appreciate it.  We like to have some spare uniform items on hand.  If you are able to help, please bring any clean items to the office, it would be much appreciated.

ATTENTION ALL MAC LEAVERS – IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE IT DEPARTMENT

After you've left MAC you have a grace period of 90 days in which your digital accounts (including your MAC email) will still work. In this time it is important that you update your email address and account details with any other services to avoid being locked out after the grace period. Please see IT if you have any concerns.

2022 MAC MAGAZINE

We previously advised our school magazine would be issued to students at the end of the term, however at this stage we are unsure when the magazines will be available for distribution. We will let you know at the beginning of term when these will be available.

COLLEGE FUNDRAISER

An adventure town deserves an adventure playground at school.

Quality, well designed playgrounds mean students who are physically and mentally healthier, with minds prepared for learning.

Help 'Parents and Friends of MAC' raise funds for a new adventure playground for students. If every student contributed $67, there could be a new adventure playground available next year! We know that’s not possible for all, so we’ll be fundraising and applying for grants. Please help if you can - either by visiting our "Givealittle" page  https://givealittle.co.nz/org/mount-aspiring-college , or if you would like to donate directly to the school bank account: Westpac, Wanaka, MAC Board of Trustees 03-1739-0027820-00 Ref: playground.

If you are interested in getting involved with 'Parents and Friends of MAC', please register your details in the form linked on our website.

STUDYLINK

Studylink have provided some very useful information on payments for students - they understand that sometimes students know when to apply for Studylink payments but they sometimes don’t know what they are applying for.

Below is a document with some key messages, aimed at parents, to help spread the word about what is available. The topics covered are:

  • First year fees-free
  • Study jargon – EFTS
  • Student Loan
  • Student Allowance
  • When to apply
  • How to apply
  • Extra payments

SCHOOL BUSES - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

For your information: Bus routes and timetables, and eligibility criteria can now be viewed on our website: https://www.mountaspiringcollege.nz/school-bus-lists.html If route stops or times are updated these will be reflected here, but we will always try to notify you if we are aware that any changes have been made.

HAVE YOU MOVED? / ARE YOU MOVING?

We are required to have your correct physical address on file. If you have moved recently, or are about to do so, please email office@mtaspiring.school.nz to supply the updated information.
