SISS Athletics
Last weekend 10 students attended the South Island Secondary School athletics in Christchurch at Nga Puna Wai. There were some great performances from our students with five placing in the top three for their individual events and both our relay teams placing first. Well done to all!

MAC MTB Champs

On Wednesday 14 April Mount Aspiring College held their annual mountain bike champs at Deans Bank. It was a great day with over 60 students taking part. A big thank you to Lincoln Bruce for organising such a successful event and all the volunteers who helped on the day!

Senior Boys:  1st - McKay Watson, 2nd - Archie Purchas, 3rd - Red Simpson

Senior Girls:  1st - Ella Julian, 2nd - Rhi David, 3rd - Pippa Raffills

Y9/10 Boys:  1st - Tom Sides, 2nd - Zavier Taylor, 3rd - Ben McMurray

Y9/10 Girls:  1st - Lulu Pettit, 2nd - Amy Benson, 3rd - Emily Schmidt

Y7/8 Boys:  1st - Max Bagley, 2nd - Jack Sides, 3rd - Huxley Acland

Y7/8 Girls:  1st - Isla Taylor, 2nd - Ruby Smith, 3rd - Rhian Telfer

Overall MAC MTB Champs:  Boys - Tom Sides, Girls - Ella Julian


NZSS Canoe Slalom Championship

The NZSS Canoe Slalom championship was held in Tekapo on 27-31 March. On the final day of competition MAC student Red Simpson competed in the Freestyle event. Red competed well against some strong competition, earning 114 points to place him 2nd in the under 18 boys category and 3rd overall paddler. Well done Red!
